SOUNDS LIKE A GIVE-UP TO ME!!

Hi JD;

Not sure what you mean by "give up." Doesn't matter. Come spring training, my juices will be running again and my heart pumping: Cubs-Cubbies-Cubs-Cubbies-Cubs-Cubbies. Happens every year.

...And, indeed, the Cubs are now talking with both Pujols and Fielder. I am hoping for the former.

Damn, SLU lost last night to St Mary's of whatever (Larmount?) Hey, that's good! Don't want them to get over confident before the real season begins with conference play.

Sincerely;

Daniel

I NOW KNOW THE REAL DEFINITION OF OPTIMIST......................JD

Hi JD;

Check out these photos; some are "art" and others are without category. This is an announcement from an auction house. The estimates are listed. Check those out. You will be surprised or, more than likely, shocked.

I saw this article in today's LA Times: "The Albert Pujols derby..." by Bill Dwyre. Your Angels have made a bid: $210 million, ten years. However, the article is more concerned with the obscene figures offered to today's athletes. I remember when Al Kaline signed for $35,000/year (1956?). I couldn't believe someone could be paid so much to play baseball. Aaaaah, how times have changed...And we owe it all the Finley. Remember him? He was the one who broke his contract with Catfish Hunter and the "reserve clause" was filed under "history."

Oh, yeah, are these boobs big enough for you?

Sincerely;

Dan

Hi JD;

Here is another article from St. Louis concerning the BIG deal. It is sort of like when Boston traded the Babe to the hated Yankees.

Oh, yeah...I'm thinking that a constitutional amendment should be added to that sacred document requiring REPUBLICAN candidates, for the presidency, to take an IQ test. I mean, really, Perry thinks that there are eight Supreme Court justices. I wonder how he reasons the meaning of a "majority opinion." I was reminded of Ronnie-Boy when he had his first meeting with Gorbachev,. He exited the meeting telling everyone that HE and what's his name had saved the world by agreeing on nuclear bomb reduction numbers and went on to explain them. His advisors were horrified. Did he take into account the "throw weights," etc...."Huh!" replied Ronnie.

Lover Boy Newt has a Phd in history which he seems to think gives him the right to rewrite historical fact. Boy, is America in trouble...Maybe Barbie doll Palin isn't a bad idea for the Republican nomination. At least we would know what we were getting: mediocracy personified.

I love having the Republicans to kick around...there such easy targets...Like shooting monkeys in a barrel. Where is Bozo-the-Clown when we need him?

Sincerely;

Dan

HAPPY NEW YEAR....to all friends and family....and best wishes for a great and healthy coming 366!!   Yes , it's Leap Year, where we allow Earth to catch up with the sun, or does the sun just wait for the Earth another day???

Let's all hope we all have a memorable year, and thanks for all the e-mails and notes throughout the past year.

And....for those who believe in the ominous portents of the Mayan calendar : so long, and have a pleasant trip.

And for the sports-minded... GO HAWKS, GO ANGELS, GO VIKINGS.  (Yes...on that last team, I was just kidding.)

Go easy on New Years Eve, and don't abuse any lampshades.    And ... let us hope we are all here next year....

same time, same place ... and able to receive another of these insipid messages.
